X-Rite ColorChecker Classic Mega

The ColorChecker Classic MEGA is intended for applications in which the target should have an extreme distance from the camera and can still be displayed with a sufficient resolution to be used for corrections. With its enormous 102 x 152 cm, the MEGA is the largest target within the ColorChecker family and is an ideal tool for the following photographic scenarios and more -

• Photo - Wide-angle shots; Landscape, urban landscape, extreme distance photography
• Event photography; Concerts, churches, sport, theater, stage

The MEGA target is ideal for creating custom camera profiles (DNG and ICC), correcting neutral balance and exposure, and provides a standard for color corrections.

What is a ColorChecker?
The ColorChecker target is a series of 24 scientifically formulated colors that have been the leading color reference target in the industry for more than 40 years. It is designed to ensure true-to-life color reproduction so that photographers and filmmakers can predict and control what the color will look like in all lighting conditions. Use the ColorChecker Classic Mega to create custom camera profiles, process colored material, or as a visual reference.

Each of the 24 colors found on a ColorChecker target represents the actual color of natural objects such as skin tone, foliage, and blue sky, and reflects light just like its realistic counterpart. Since these colors exemplify the color of their counterparts in nature and reflect the light equally in all parts of the visible spectrum, the squares match the colors of representative patterns of natural objects under any lighting and with any color rendering method. Each Solid Patch is individually crafted to create a pure, flat, and rich color.

ColorChecker Targets have been used by color perfectionists for ten years to create custom DNG profiles for Adobe Lightroom ^® and Photoshop ^® workflows. You can now also create custom ICC camera profiles for use in Capture One ^® (or any other ICC-compatible software) when you combine the ColorChecker Target with X-Rite ColorChecker Camera Calibration Software. Get accurate colors when shooting based on a specific combination of lighting, camera and lens used during a shot, saving valuable editing time.
